Halfway there...

This is me today hooked up to my pump for my chemo. The
tube inserts into my port in my upper chest.  I just
wanted to give you how it looks!
4th chemo treatment is finished!  I am halfway there and things going very well.  I am so happy to be at this point in my treatment.  I will have 3 more treatments in December and then one in January--such a great feeling.  After my last treatment I felt like the chemo was kicking my butt some with feeling tired and sick to my stomach, so we'll see what happens this time.

Well I still have my hair which is a lot longer than I thought I was going to have it.  It is falling out so I am thinking after this last treatment more will continue to fall.  I think I am just going to see what happens and I guess after I get my first bald spot it may be time to shave it off. I have really come to terms with losing it.  For sure it isn't something I want, but in the grand scheme of things it will be okay.  I do have to say it wasn't easy to get to this point, I have had some dark days but it will be ok again.   I ended up coloring my hair because hey why not!  I picked a color that I know I would never pick, a bright blonde lol.  Well it looked somewhat ok lol. But boy oh boy if there is every a quick way to detach yourself from your hair is by coloring it something you are not so cool with :)

So as it stands now I am half way there and things are looking pretty good!

**On another note I would like to thank some of the wonderful women I used to work with at Caldwell Heights in Round Rock, Texas.  I received your such thoughtful gifts and words and I can't thank you enough.  It really means a great deal to me, so again thank you and I truly miss you all.

Who are the people in your neighborhood?...

Well chemo treatment number 3 is finished and I am very happy about that. I  My white blood cell count was low again and I am supposed to avoid crowds. I will just have to pick and choose when I go to the store to avoid large crowds.  On a side note :) Sometime I think of Walmart is like the "watering hole" in Africia.  It is a neccesity to  go to, you are reluctant to be there, there are some you meet and talk to to help you out and be your lookouts lol, and when it is all finished you leave as soon as you can!

Since  my white blood cell count was pretty low there are times when they want to pause treatment.  But as my doctor said that with the type of treatment I am getting it can do more harm than good.  So #3 treatment is finished.  My doctor said my symptoms will probable be with me for a little longer this round.    I am on a pretty strong anitbiotic to help fight off potiential infections because of again of the white blood cell count being low.  So as of right now I am just taking things one day at a time-  what more can I do?  Right now little Audrey is sitting here on my lap watching me type- another reason just to take in the moment and live each day to its fullest!
Sitting in the chair you see people come and go and everyone has a story. I have met some really sweet people in the treatment room.  I am finding out that Clarksville is a small town and even after being here for 2 years I am bumping into people who I know. It is a nice feeling.  After talking with the woman sitting next to me she stated just a simple observation "there are just too many people here with cancer".  I agreed.

*On a side note a friend of mine that I worked with in Texas, Kari Farmer just learned that her little Ella who is 4 has Leukemia another type of blood cancer. She is being treated in Austin, Texas and it doing well.   Also, a former co-worker way back in the day has found out she has breast cancer.  Thank you all for your prayers and support for me, but these are also some families that are facing tough times as well.  Just never seems to end does it?
